The sound of classic New Orleans jazzDuring the years when British bassoonist Mike Owen lived in Aarhus, he formed a band capable of creating the proper sound of classic New Orleans jazz. Jelly Roll Morton, Joe King Oliver, Johnny Dodds and last but not least Kid Ory and his Creole Jazz Band are the primary influences. Mike Owens has repatriated to his hometown of Birmingham, England, but, fortunately, the band still exists. The stage is set for a blast of a reunion concert when the seven-man band opens this year
