Free Outdoor Concert with the Savoy Big Band
The Savoy Big Band is a professional 13-piece Big Band reminiscent of the smaller big bands that played at the Savoy Ballroom and other New York City nightclubs. Savoy performs all-new arrangements of the great jazz standards as well as more contemporary works. Swing, Blues, and Latin Jazz, with songs by Grover Washington, Diana Krall, and Natalie Cole, as well as by Count Basie and Duke Ellington. The band plays monthly at Tozzi’s on 12th, and has performed numerous times at The Wooster Jazz Arts Festival, the Akron Civic Theatre, and Live and Local at the Canton Palace Theatre.
