The CBC3 is taking the art of the trio into an exciting new direction. The musicians include Bob Shaut on Soprano and Tenor saxophones, Charlie Kniceley on bass and Chris Bowman on drums. They are all veterans of 40 + years of improvisational music and are playing original compositions by Bob and Charlie. They employ worldwide rhythms in an array of compositional excursions that are sure to provide fuel for every listener. Make no mistake, this is not “out” music. The songs have forms both rhythmic and harmonic and are crafted to suit the trio concept. Together for the last year, they have performed at several venues in the east and most recently in January at the NAMM convention in Anaheim California.
