Arch Stanton Quartet at Madison Theater

Arch Stanton Quartet drummer Steven Partyka and former ASQ drummer James Ketterer have teamed up for a set of chamber-oriented jazz arrangements featuring original music and covers during this unique program at the historic Madison Theater in Albany.

Partyka and Ketterer will be joined by other members of ASQ: Terry Gordon, Chris Macchia and Roger Noyes. Music selections will include new arrangements from the Arch Stanton Quartet's debut album "Along For The Ride" and their follow-up release "Blues For Soli," as well as some newer material written by members of the group and new takes from the bop, post-bop and modern jazz canon....

As a special guest, Jay Hunter will be our emcee for the night, introducing the music and offering up some readings. Jay is DJ at WVCR The Saint (88.3 FM) where he hosts a live jazz show every Saturday evening from Midnight to 2 a.m. He is also one of the finest jazz reviewers around whose work appears at nippertown.com, albanyjazz.com and other media.
