Pianist, organist, arranger and composer, Dick Hyman, is best known for his versatility and for his masterful facility for improvisation. Since the 1950’s, he has recorded over 100 albums and has had a prolific career in New York as a studio musician. The Artistic Director for the acclaimed Jazz in July series at New York’s 92nd Street Y for twenty years, he is also an Emmy winning television music director. For more than six decades, guitarist, Bucky Pizzarelli has been a fixture in jazz. The list of big bands and vocalists with whom he has performed and recorded reads like a Who’s Who of Jazz. His superior mastery of the seven-string guitar is unparalleled and his very personal style sets him apart from all others. Saxophonist, Jimmy Greene has been called “one of the most striking young tenors of recent years.” He performs regularly with his own quartet and has toured and recorded with Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Harry Connick, Jr., Kenny Barron, the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, and many others. Since his emergence in the mid 1980’s, Randy Sandke has been one of the top swing-oriented trumpeters in jazz, playing with Vince Girodano’s Nighthawks, Bob Wilber and Benny Goodman’s band as well with Michael Brecker, The Newport All-Stars, Jon Hendricks, Dizzy Gillespie and Mel Tormé.Jay Leonhart has had a parallel and sometimes overlapping career as both a bassist and as a witty lyricist/singer working in jazz and popular music. He has performed with Judy Garland, Carly Simon, Sting, Frank Sinatra, and Tony Bennett, to name a few. As a studio musician in New York, he worked on projects for James Taylor, Ozzy Osbourne and Queen Latifah. One of the most in-demand drummers among the jazz elite, Lewis Nash boasts one of the longest discographies in jazz, having played on over 400 records (including projects with Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson, Diana Krall), earning him the honor of being named Jazz’s Most Valuable Players by Modern Drummer magazine in 2009. A member of the Branford Marsalis Quartet for two years, he has also worked with Tommy Flanagan, Sonny Rollins, and Horace Silver.
