Voicehandler at The Roost Creative Music Series at Outpost Performance Space

Voicehandler, the duo of Jacob Felix Heule and Danishta Rivero, is an electroacoustic ensemble which performs with voice, percussion, electronics, and the Hydrophonium (an electroacoustic percussion instrument created by Rivero). Voicehandler’s music is composed as open scores, leaving much room for the duo to draw on its members’ extensive experience as improvisers. The scores use traditional notation as well as graphic and text elements to explore ideas of our origins and what it means to be human, based on mythological texts as well as the writings of Burroughs, Borges, and Hamsun.
