Fabrik unites four praised young musicians from Belgium and The Netherlands in one new group. It is the brainchild of drummer and composer Mark Schilders founded in a quest for - to him - key elements in modern music: song, stillness, texture, groove and improvisation. Mark Schilders was chosen as a ‘New Maker’ by the Performing Arts Fund NL in 2014. With Fabrik he presented his original compositions at the festival Jazz International Rotterdam.

Mark Schilders has built an incredible reputation, in relatively short time, as the drummer of, among others, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra. He played with Reinier Baas, Jesse van Ruller, Gregory Porter and many others. He regularly lives in New York where he studies with Jim Black.
