The Marmoucha Orchestra consists of inspired artists with a passion for musical traditions from the Mediterranean region. Their latest program Old Signs – New Sounds follows the Phoenician trade routes (1500- 400 BC) across the Mediterranean.
Drawing on ancient writings, they highlight the role of women in music and visual art. The ancient goddesses Anahita, Ishtar and Tanit serve as examples, interpreted by three guest singers with Iranian, Moroccan and Turkish roots.
