I wanted to share a personal moment with you...Today was particularly challenging at work, and once again, I found myself away from my lovely family and alone in my flat here in London ... yet, this is no time to rest, I got to keep learning the Piano and need discipline to progress on my Piano Jazz project after all... I started to rehearse quite obsessively the next song that I will be playing with the YT Collaboration Jazz trio (see "Officially Missing You")...hey, the next piece with the trio is hard work to finest and to be honest, needs and deserves more work (hope to release it in a couple of weeks or so)...so here we go, I started to work on some fancy loops, in endless cycles until my fingers get wired to the brain, and as I think I should to secure progress, I became obsessive with playing the scales...OMG, 3 hours of scale practice had gone by...I eventually had my fingers wired to my brain, but I was definitely brain washed... I needed to stop and play something else, you know, just to relax...........

I browsed my realbook, started to dream of the sound and rhythms of so many loved standards, paused glancing at the score of many pieces I know I can't decently play yet and decided these will need to wait...until I stopped at "Naima"...gosh, I love this song so much.........I told to myself: why not, try it, play it, nothing fancy, keep it simple, just try to feel the keyboard for a moment - close your eyes, immerse yourself in Coltrane's harmonics, just dream...and as I laid down my hands on the Piano, I finally found peace.
