Following the huge success and critical acclaim of the Miles Davis Project Band’s sell out performances of the seminal album “Kind of Blue” in 2010, the band now returns to St. James’s Piccadilly, London, with a new theme of dedication to the legendary jazz trumpeter.

Focusing on Miles Davis’s early career based in 1940s New York, both as a sideman notably with the great saxophonist Charlie Parker and also later as a bandleader, for this concert only the Miles Davis Project Band performs the music that gave birth to a jazz icon, and arguably the most influential jazz musician of all time.

The Miles Davis Project Band was formed in 2007 and is made up of some of the brightest rising stars playing on today’s increasingly vibrant London jazz scene. The band’s boundless energy and mutual enthusiasm for the music of Miles Davis makes it ideal for recreating what was some of the most innovative jazz ever played, and music which so often became key turning points in the history of jazz. This promises to be one of the best jazz concerts of 2011 in London.
