A misunderstanding left Grimsby Jazz without a band at 12 noon on the day of the gig. After nearly four hours of frantic phone calls we had a band which came together at 3.45pm or as they became known The quarter to 4 Band. Fortunately for us no-one wanted their money back and fortunately for the audience these guys were an exciting and talented unit, and turned out to be one of our best nights. We are delighted that most of that band are with us tonight, all the way from America, Brian Davis on trumpet, Tony Burcherello sax, Piero Tucci piano, Pat McCarthy guitar, - with new members Ken Marley double bass and John Perry drums.
