About
One of the most prolific and creative saxophonists of the younger Slovene jazz generation, Jure Pukl studied tenor sax with Joe Lovano and has worked with artists such as Maceo Parker, Esperanza Spalding and Marcus Gilmore, and orchestras like European Jazz Orchestra, European Movement Jazz Orchestra, Vienna Saxophone Quartet and many others. His music has won him many awards. What he creates is a unique type of modern jazz, impressionistic, contemporary music influenced by John Coltrane and Steve Coleman performed with a great deal of knowledge and love, giving prominence to the interplay between band members.
