Members of the Spirit of Jazz & Democracy ensemble will speak on innovation in music. Special guest Pierre Sprey, conceptual designer of the F-16 and the A-10 and owner of MapleShade Records, will address the mindset of innovation in art and science. A fully improvised concert by the Spirit of Jazz & Democracy ensemble will follow the panel. The music has been recognized by Oxford’s Grove Dictionary of American Music as a new direction in jazz and art.
