Beartrap is a "leaderless" quintet based in Southeastern Michigan. The group features Jason Didia & Tristan Cappel on woodwinds, David Dunham on guitar/electronics, Jeff Cuny on bass, and Stuart Lyons on drums. The band's focus is on original composition and improvisation. Beartrap is heavily influenced by Ornette Coleman, The Bad Plus, Tim Berne, and a host of other contemporary artists from all walks of music.
