For the final free Sesi Motors 5:01 Jazz show presented by WEMU-FM, bassist Ron Brooks will perform with his Trio + 2. This band was assembled at the 2016 Detroit Jazz Festival to honor Kenn Cox and The Contemporary Jazz Quintet. Brooks was a founding member of that band. Brooks was so thrilled to be playing the music again, that he kept the quintet together to play Cox's music and great new originals penned by all members including saxophonist Vincent Bowens, trumpeter Rayse Biggs, pianist Gary Schunk and drummer Djallo Djakate.
