Julius Tolentino Quintet at Jazz In The Park at Riverside Gardens Park

Julius Tolentino, performer, composer, and educator, combines sophisticated technique and skilled interpretation to create a sound that is unique while also based on tradition. Tolentino studied with the late Jackie McLean and has performed at the Newport Jazz Festival, the Village Vanguard, Birdland, The Blue Note, and Dizzy’s Club in the Lincoln Center. As a leader, his debut album, “Just the Beginning,” on the Sharp Nine label, reached No. 8 on the jazz charts in 2006.

This series takes place in Red Bank’s Riverside Gardens Park on Thursday evenings during the summer months. Weather permitting, our audience could top 500+ people. They bring chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, bottles of wine etc., for an engaging summer's eve of great music. It is a widely diverse group of all ages and cultures including families, individuals, students, and children who enjoy the free concerts in front of a picturesque setting facing the Navesink River.
