Our First Friday at First season begins in January 2025 with a very special performance by Afro Blue with Cyrus Chestnut. Founded at Howard University by its director, Jazz Voice Coordinator Connaitre Miller, Afro Blue’s vocals are patterned after the likes of Manhattan Transfer and Take 6. They have won numerous local and national awards and hold an eminent reputation as one of the country’s premier jazz ensembles. Paired with masterful pianist Cyrus Chestnut’s robust, soulful style and leadership, the 2025 First Friday season launches with an unforgettable evening of phenomenal jazz music.
