About Rialto Jazz for Kids

The Rialto Jazz for Kids program is a progressive and innovative education curriculum designed to teach America’s greatest indigenous art form – jazz music. Dr. Gordon Vernick, director of Jazz Studies at Georgia State University, and his group of musicians serve five metro Atlanta middle schools where students learn not only how to play instruments, but also study the culture and history of jazz.
