Advent, a season of longing, of waiting, for the birth of a child, for solstice, for solace. The days get darker and darker and we wait for the turning point, the moving forward into the light. An advent calendar marks the days while we wait, hope, and anticipate, gathering the ones we love in our arms, or simply in our hearts.

Alex Coke (flutes, saxophone) and Elaine Barber (harp) offer you a musical calendar to mark the days of advent. Every day from December 1st-24th we’ll email you (or someone you gift) an mp3 of us playing a song we like - jazz, classical, Christmas, whatever strikes our fancy. We’re recording some of our favorites for this project, music that feels festive, or quiet & full of wonder, or warm & cozy....
