Join Kellye Gray and Friends on July 4th at the One World Theatre in Austin, Texas. For an intimate evening as she features her original material and favorite songs from Texas songwriters turned into Texazz! The 7 p.m. show will be full of wonderful, vital music. Complementing Kellyeʼs amazing vocals are some of Austin and Texasʼs most magnetic and passionate jazz players, on keys Red Young, guitarist Jake Langley, pianist/vocalist Pamela York and drummer Sebastian Whittaker.

Kellye's new show deconstructs songs of Texas songwriters and recomposes them into Texazz (pronounced Tejass). From a bossa nova version of Willie Nelson’s “Help Me Make it Through the Night” to a dark jazz fusion version of Shake Russell’s “Deep in the West” Kellye claims her own territory....

It is Kellye’s Southern roots that give her, as she says, “the grist for my mill. My gospel and blues upbringing connects me to the music in a soulful way. I love a strong groove and if the tune is not swinging then Iʼm not having fun. Audiences feel when you are having fun and they want to join in.”

Kellye Gray started her career in Austin on 6th Street. In the early 90ʼs she became an international touring artist and moved to San Francisco, during which time two of her releases rose to the top 20 on the charts.

Kellye is an actor, a comedian, a songwriter, a producer, an educator and bon vivant. She loves to call Austin home, though her career keeps her on the road most of the time bouncing around the globe playing to audiences moved by the depth of her soul.
