Peggy Stern: The Flute/string Project at Monks Jazz Club

This June 18th Peggy Stern (pianist, composer) will be presenting The String/Flute project, a chamber music setting of Peggy’s original compositions, at @monksjazz. “I have enjoyed working on this project for quite awhile, writing several new tunes for the occasion, and fleshing out some older ones. It has been a joy to give each member of the group a specific role to play in the harmonic and melodic trajectory of each piece. Of course, this being jazz music (with a gentle classical bent), the evening will include plenty of improvisation.
