Founded in 2003, The Baltimore Jazz Alliance is a grass-roots organization of jazz aficionados, musicians and venues dedicated to enhancing and promoting jazz in Baltimore and the surrounding areas. The Alliance aims to develop new audiences for jazz, strengthen communication within the Baltimore jazz community, bring greater visibility to the entire array of jazz offerings in the Baltimore region, and to provide greater access to performance opportunities for Baltimore area jazz musicians. Among its many projects are two compilation CD’s, a Jazz for Kids program, and a performance series. For more information about the BJA, visit http://www.baltimorejazz.com.
