PIANIST PERFORMS 50 YEARS OF JAZZ PIANO
Pianist Neville Dickie from England will be demonstrating the art of Jazz Piano when he performs at Germano’s Pattini, 300 South High Street, Baltimore on Sunday, May 22nd. at 7:30 pm. He will feature the various styles of piano jazz since 1899 – the year the Maple Leaf Rag was composed – up until 1950, when be-bop and modern jazz came into popularity. Ragtime, Boogie Woogie, Blues and Stride Piano will all be demonstrated, with anecdotes about the performers i.e. ‘Fats’ Waller, ‘Jelly Roll’ Morton, Albert Ammons, and many others. He has made annual visits to America since his first appearance in 1975....
