Jacqueline Pollauf, harpist, praised for playing with “transcendent ability” (The Sybaritic Singer) recently premiered a new work for harp and voice at Carnegie Hall in New York, New York. Past performances include the Eleventh World Harp Congress in Vancouver, Canada and the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. An active recitalist, Jacqueline always seeks to explore the versatility of the harp.
A dedicated composer, Jacqueline’s works are available through Lyon and Healy Publications, Harp Column Music, and Oakway Studios. Recording credits include a forthcoming album with cellist Dariusz Skoraczewski, and Songs and Dreams for solo harp. Jacqueline has been honored with awards from the Maryland State Arts Council and Chamber Music America. In addition to being the director of the Baltimore Harp Camp, Jacqueline is on faculty at the Baltimore School for the Arts, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She holds degrees from the Peabody Conservatory.
Versatile trumpeter Brent Madsen is an active jazz, commercial, orchestral, chamber and solo performer as well as an educator. Madsen is currently a member of the National Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed with the Wolf Trap Opera Company, the Annapolis, Harrisburg, Alexandria and Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestras, the Brad Linde Ensemble, and Baltimore-based improvised music collective Out of Your Head. He is also a founding member of NYC-based lungcore groups Jerseyband and Heart of Barf.
Zachary Swanson began studying the double bass at the age of 6 in his home state of Massachusetts. Using gut strings and a personalized technique, Zachary has developed a conception of the double bass that heightens the integrity of various musical environments. He can be found playing around New York City and beyond in a variety of styles, ranging from adventurous improvised music to backing singer-songwriters. Zachary is a graduate of the Peabody Institute of Music at Johns Hopkins University and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY where he has made his home since 2012.
