Young superstars, Ebban & Ephraim Dorsey are back again with their Quintet for another spectacular show at Keystone Korner Baltimore on September 14th at 7:30pm!
Ebban Dorsey, 18-year-old alto saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, is from Baltimore, Maryland and has been playing since she was 10. In the past 8 years, she has studied with Blake Meister, Carl Grubbs, Tim Green, and is currently studying with Gary Thomas. Ebban has gained a lot of experience playing Jazz and has even performed with Carl Grubbs, Gary Bartz (Performed on a live recording for the documentary titled, “Blues Chronicles”), Kamasi Washington, John Lamkin, Warren Wolf, Benito Gonzales, Kenny Garett, Tia Fuller, Sean Jones, Wycliffe Gordon, Tanya Darby, Erica Von Kleist, Mimi Jones, Shamie Royston, Reginald Thomas, Allison Miller, Matthew Stevens, The Chuck Redd Band (performed with her brother, Ephraim Dorsey, at the Kennedy Center for the christmas day concert) Christian Scott, and many more. She also received an invitation to play in the Herbie Hancock Institute National All-Star Jazz Quintet. She was a member of NYO Jazz 2020 as well as NYO Jazz 2021 and recorded an album with the 2021 Jazz band. She has also performed a jazz rendition of “This Land is Your Land” at the Baltimore Orioles stadium as part of the “Women of Music” concert series, and later performed the national anthem alongside Ephraim Dorsey for the 2020 season opener. With her brother, Ebban has performed at Bohemian Caverns, the Arts & Drafts Summer Music & Arts Festival, Dizzy’s Coca Cola Club, Caton Castle, Keystone Korner, the Kennedy Center, the Montclair Jazz Festival, and many other venues. Ephraim Dorsey, 19-year-old tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, is from Baltimore, Maryland and has been playing since he was 11. He is currently an incoming sophomore at Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute. In the past 8 years, he has studied with Blake Meister, Carl Grubbs, Tim Green, and is currently studying under Gary Thomas. Ephraim has gained a lot of experience playing Jazz and has performed with Carl Grubbs, Gary Bartz (Performed on a live recording for the documentary titled, “Blues Chronicles”), Kamasi Washington (participated in a film project entitled, “As told to G/D thyself”’, which is available for viewing on iTunes and the Apple Store), Kenny Garett, John Lamkin, Warren Wolf, Benito Gonzales (Performed with at the twins Jazz Club), Kris Funn, Sean Jones, Wycliffe Gordon, Erica Von Kleist, Reginald Thomas, The Chuck Redd Band (performed with his sister, Ebban Dorsey, at the Kennedy Center for the Christmas day concert), Christian Scott, and many more. He was a member of NYO Jazz 2021 and recorded an album with the 2021 Jazz Band. Ephraim, alongside Ebban Dorsey, has performed the national anthem at the Orioles Stadium for the 2020 season opener. Ephraim and Ebban have performed at Bohemian Caverns, Dizzy’s Coca Cola Club, Caton Castle, Keystone Korner, the Montclair Jazz Festival, and many other venues. Ephraim is a passionate Jazz musician and aims to share his gift with the rest of the world.
