All members are protégés, friends, or cohorts of one of Baltimore's greatest kept secrets, Mr. Charles Funn, who is their current band leader.
Organized in 1995 and led by jazz educator / trombonist Charles Funn, the ensemble, performs the music of Duke Ellington, William Thomas “Billy” Strayhorn, William “Count” Basie, Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire, and more.
