Bassist Bhagwan Khalsa's multi-ethnic and diverse style of playing is reflected in the various artists with whom he has worked: David Fatheadö Newman, Kenny Drew, Jr., Buck Hill, Sonny Fortune, John Hicks, Ronnie Wells, Oliver Lake, Gary Thomas, Mark Schim, Arthur Blythe, Cecil Payne, Alllison Miller, and Elsworth Gibson. Currently, Khalsa works as a freelance musician with top jazz, blues, contemporary, and Latin musicians in the Washington, D.C. area.
Percussionist Alphonso Melvin Young was born in Hampton, Virginia, in 1965. He received his bachelor's degree in music education from Shenandoah University and attended graduate school at the University of Miami on a full-tuition scholarship. He performs with the Robert Larson Trio, Charles Brubeck Quartet, Larry Elder Trio, Yvette Spears Quartet, Nia Olabesi Quartet, Debbie Kirkland Group, Howard Burns Quartet, pianist William Knowles and the Eric Byrd Trio. His wide range of recent recordings include a PBS three-part series, Stealing Time, National Geographic's The Secret Lives of Cats, and commercials for the National Institute of Health.
The Eric Byrd Trio are premier Jazz musicians whose vision is to glorify the age of traditional jazz while providing an energetic and modern approach to standards and original compositions at the same time.
As true ambassadors of jazz, the Eric Byrd Trio have performed internationally for over 10 years. With several studio albums released, the EBT has enjoyed immense popularity and recognition from fans and government officials alike.
They are former Kennedy Center/United States State Department Jazz Ambassadors which provided them the opportunity to tour countries like Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Honduras and Trinidad.

Their international touring includes concerts at the Montreux Switzerland Jazz Festival, multiple tours of South America, an appearance at a world music festival in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the country of Estonia, Italy and Scotland..
