Uncharted Allegories performs music by pianist and composer Michael McNeill.

Pianist Michael McNeill has cultivated a personal style that has found a home in contexts both mainstream and avant-garde, from the ethereal chamber-jazz sounds of resAUnance, to the post-bop energy of Kelly Bucheger's What Would Mingus Do?, and in his own music for his trio with veteran improvisers Ken Filiano (bass) and Phil Haynes (drums) and for the Buffalo Jazz Octet. One of the world’s premiere musical innovators on her instrument, Baltimore-based Susan Alcorn has taken the pedal steel guitar far beyond its traditional role in country and western swing music. Known among steel guitarists for her virtuosity and authenticity in a traditional context, Alcorn first paid her dues in Texas country & western bands.

Trumpeter/Improviser/Composer/Educator, Dave Ballou has released ten CD’s as a leader and co-leader.. He appeared as a featured soloist for the premiere of Schuller’s Encounters, a composition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Jordan Hall. In 2009, Dave received an Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council.

Shelly Purdy is a contemporary percussionist committed to performing and teaching experimental music. Shelly is constantly pursuing new solo and ensemble repertoire in partnerships with local composers, dancers, sculptors, and visual artists. She performs with various ensembles including the percussion quartet Umbilicus
