Saxophonist, bandleader, entrepreneur, educator: Greg Osby’s unique contributions to contemporary improvised music have garnered distinguished recognition from many quarters, including a Pew Fellowship, Chamber Music America, The Doris Duke Foundation, the Jazz Journalists Association Award, Downbeat magazine, and Playboy Magazine. Osby has collaborated and performed with such artists as Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Jack DeJohnette, Woody Shaw, Andrew Hill, Freddie Hubbard, Jim Hall, Chick Corea and many others. He has received numerous commissions, recorded and produced 13 albums of his music for the Blue Note label and currently records on his own Inner Circle Music label.
