Nico Sarbanes is a jazz vocalist, trumpeter, and composer from the great city of Baltimore. He has already emerged as one of the genre's most talented young performers, combining a virtuosic technique on the trumpet with an impressive command of the vocal repertoire of the Great American Songbook. As a bandleader, Nico has led performances and recorded with some of today's greatest jazz players, including Antonio Hart, Cyrus Chestnut, Warren Wolf, Ben Wolfe, Winard Harper, Mark Gross, and Tim Green. He has performed at various notable venues in Baltimore, Washington D.C., and New York City, including the Kennedy Center and a weekly engagement at the historic Minton’s Playhouse in Harlem. Nico is a proud native of Baltimore, and consistently seeks to bring attention to both the city's impressive jazz history and its current wealth of musical talent. In the Fall of 2015, he led a successful series of performances at the Downbeat-recognized venue An Die Musik, where he shared the stage with Baltimore jazz titans Antonio Hart, Warren Wolf, Winard Harper, and Tim Green.
