Adrian Iaies & Horacio Fumero at Jamboree

Presentation in concert of “CONVERSACIONES DESDE EL ARRABAL AMARGO”

After many years of working together in different groups and proposals, Adrián Iaies and Horacio Fumero have finally left a record of their fine understanding with the first album they have put out as a duo, Conversaciones desde el arrabal amargo. It is a work they present with double content, divided between day (studio recording) and night (live recording). The Jamboree, for its part, will host the night-time repertoire of this duo of Argentinian musicians with a natural capacity to channel the waters of tango and jazz in the same current. Iaies, based in Argentina, and Fumero, based in Catalonia, have understood like few others have how to combine the sounds of folk origin and improvisation, and are just as likely to turn a piece by Monk into a milonga as they are open a number by Anibal Troilo up to improvisation. In their hands, the wild cambalache and excesses of jazz take on a truly magical level of intimacy....
