PICAP is a Catalan record label with headquarters in Spain. It was founded in 1984.
The record label supports Catalonian authors and performers, while respecting their linguistic expression, but giving preferential support to the Catalan language. Over time, they have also opened a high quality latin music line.
The debut as a record label occurs in the year 1984 with four maxi-singles that appear simultaneously and open four-way of differentiated music. The band Programa was in connection with the emerging electronic movement that came from England named techno-pop, Javier Asensi was heading towards a potential audience of fans, Oslo sought new trends in pop and Rockson claimed hard rock.

Hector Vila, Maria-Josep Villarroya, Joan Soler Boronat are the first names of PICAP and Josep Tero or Gato Pérez. Although the first success of the new record label was the Catalan humorist Eugenio.
In the last years of 80 decade joint PICAP the band Grec that where in a wave similar to the funky that also worked other new bands that were beginning at those days as Duble Buble and N'Gai N'Gai.
The band Sau, after the success achieved with “Quina nit” signed for a multinational record label, however the band Sangtraït stay in PICAP and begins to prepare his fourth album “Contes i llegendes” at a time when the Catalan rock has reached its peak. Rock and “Cançó” are the main genres of PICAP with pointer artists in both genres.
In 1991, Lluís Llach joint for the record label which gives prestige and trust, then establishing ties with Companyia Elèctrica Dharma, Tomeu Penya, Raimon, Maria del Mar Bonet and Marina Rossell. In 1993, the record company receives the National Music Awards in Catalonia, for all recordings released. In tha lastest 90 years the Valencian band Al Tall published in PICAP.
At this stage the record company reissued CD’s from important Vinyl’s in the history of music in Catalonia included in the catalog of Edigsa, LP’s of artists like Iceberg, Pegasus, Xesco Boix, Group of Folk, Ara Va Bo, Sisa, or Música Dispersa coming from labels like Als Vents 4 or from the artists themselves as Max Sunyer or Santi Arisa.
