Together with drummer extraordinaire, Peter O’Brien, and one of the area’s best bass players, Lew Scott, they present a project which aims to turn standard jazz repertoire on its head. American Songbook tunes take in Middle Eastern influences and unusual time signatures, re-harmonized Latin or Samba classics get a free improv makeover.
