Strykin’ Ahead (2017) was Dave's 28th recording as a leader, supporting his notion of moving forward by triangulating a space between creative and pragmatic imperatives - a consistent thread throughout his four decades in the jazz business.

Stryker was voted into the Downbeat Critics and Readers Polls, multiple times. In addition to his own recordings, he has appeared as a sideman or producer on over 100 others, and recorded and published over 130 original compositions. He is passing it on as an Instructor of Jazz Guitar at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Dave's CDs Eight Track and Eight Track II, are a celebration of 70's pop hits, reimagined by his working trio with the addition of vibes. It spent twenty weeks on the JazzWeek Radio charts, topping off at #3 for three weeks.
