The Big Takeover creates a fresh and vivid version of reggae with their captivating front woman - Jamaican born and raised NeeNee Rushie.
The ensemble features a playful horn section, pulsating bass and drums, and a hypnotizing rhythm section that fills the hearts of its listeners with good vibes and solid joy.
Formed in 2008, this New York based band has played over 500 shows up and down the East Coast. The Big Takeover has released two full length studio albums, and anticipate a third.They have had the pleasure of calling true reggae royalty, their stage mates - The Wailers, The Skatalites, The Slackers, Yellow Man, Taurrus Riley, Inner Circle, and Sister Nancy....
