About

"Gangway" symbolizes of the start of an adventure; the first and last thing you see before you embark, and disembark during any journey. The concept was heavily inspired by Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage" and Wayne Shorter's "Adventures Abroad the Golden Mean". The free open nature of "Gangway" takes on many shapes, and as a result, it will never sound the same, twice. Roney's intention for this piece is for it to be listened to while you're going somewhere you've never been before.

Music has always been a part of Wallace’s family pedigree. His father was world-renowned trumpeter Wallace Roney Sr. His mother - universally acclaimed pianist Geri Allen....
