Mad Satta is at the forefront of a new movement in music. This exciting and sophisticated, eight-piece band merges elements of old-school soul with hip-hop, rock, and jazz to create an intriguing sound that spans generations.

Led by vocalist Joanna Teters and bassist Ben Carr, Mad Satta is coming up through the ranks fueled by talent, passion and a relentless drive to reach an ever-expanding audience. Teters confidently fronts the band with grace and depth of soul beyond her years, with her own musical roots deep in funk, reggae and jazz. Mad Satta has since shared the stage with some notable musicians and musical acts—Ozomatli, Afrika Bambaataa, Gretchen Parlato and Taylor Eigsti—to name a few. Having already appeared at legendary venues in NYC, Boston, Washington D.C. and Connecticut as well as colleges around the northeast, they have caught the eye of many—from legendary musicians to young children, and everyone in between.

Their highly anticipated debut album, entitled ‘Comfort’ is set to be released in winter of 2013; this album is being co-produced by GRAMMY-winning producer/ engineer, Prince Charles Alexander (Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige.) The album will feature original material that showcases Teters’ “terrific and powerful vocals [at the forefront of] truly enjoyable music that moves you, and grooves hard.”
