The greatest success for South Africa-born multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Blondie Chaplin has come as a sideman the Beach Boys, The Band, and the Rolling Stones. His hook-laden melodies have enhanced albums by Jennifer Warnes, Bonnie Raitt, David Johansen, and the Band's Rick Danko. Mr. Chaplin hails from Durban, Natal, South Africa. He started playing music at an early age, but apartheid caused him and his band, the Flames, to seek more and better opportunities in England.
