The Hudson River City of Beacon continues to enjoy a revitalization and has become a magnet for artists and creative people of all kinds. The Howland Cultural Center helped pave the way beginning in 1979 and has continuously played a role in this evolving scene.

Here at the Howland Cultural Center, Beacon's cultural diversity is embraced and celebrated. Our mission is to promote and encourage local artists of the Hudson Valley and to provide a space where they can exhibit, perform and showcase their unique artistic talents.

​We produce many of our own events, but we also co-venture with other entities who come with ideas. Other events are solely those of the presenting entity and we are the rented venue.
