Cello and voice duo,Bethany & Rufus, are known for their transcendent and soul-stirring performances of roots music from around the world. Deeply influenced by prayer and ceremonial music to dissolve prejudices and create a common humanity through song. As the daughter of folk legend Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary, Bethany has been performing at concerts and events since she was 8 years old. Her tour-de-force stage presence, mesmerizing voice and deep knowledge of the material allow her to transmit the power of their message.
Rufus Cappadocia is one of the leading voices in cello today, going where few cellists have gone before. He has toured throughout the Americas and Europe with numerous groups and is known for his collaborations with artists from all over the world including Urban Tap, The Paradox Trio, and the Vodou Drums of Haiti. Rufus plays a self designed Five String Electric Cello that extends the bass range of the cello and expands tonal possibilities.
Their debut CD, 900 Miles, was released to critical acclaim as a magical blend of Bethany Yarrow's electrifying voice (a combination of the husky power of Nina Simone and the open-throated clarity of a tiny sparrow) and the mind-blowing, genre-bending deep groove cello playing of Rufus Cappadocia.
Their CD, Trouble in the Land, is an epic journey through the roots music of the Americas, Haiti and Niger and includes an all star line up including Yacouba Moumouni (Niger), Bonga Jean Baptiste (Haiti), Chuck Campbell (USA), and Brahim Fribgane (Morrocco).

Chilean jazz vocalist Claudia Acuña didn't discover jazz music until she was 15. The Santiago native grew up singing traditional folk songs and current pop hits. She had a natural gift for the jazz style. Acuña frequented Santiago's major jazz club as a performer as well as an audience member, sitting in on sets with local musicians and meeting luminaries Wynton Marsalis, Michel Petrucciani and Danilo Perez.
Acuña moved to New York and gradually made a name for herself in the jazz community, performing regular dates at Smalls, Sweet Basil, the Zinc Bar and Metronome. With bassist Avishai Cohen, she collaborated on a demo tape that earned Acuña a contract with Verve Records. Cohen also worked with her on her debut album The Wind From the South.

The Trapps are an original roots rock band. Standing center stage at a Trapps show is Sean Schenker, who's poetic lyrics, soulful vocal delivery and percussive acoustic guitar simultaneously form the band's foundation and direction. The Trapps have shared the stage with Levon Helm at his Midnight Ramble and were in the lineup of the multi-band rock festival Mountain Jam 5 along with Gov’t Mule and the Allman Brothers. The band has also performed with Martin Sexton, Blues Traveler, Rusted Root, North Mississippi Allstars, and Benevento Russo Duo. The Trapps appeared on WAMC’s “Live at the Linda” Series and were featured artists at the CMJ Music Conference in NYC and the Cape May Singer-Songwriter Music Conference. Their latest live recording is titled “Live at the Howland".

Rob Norris is best known as the bassist for The Bongos--the founding fathers of the '80's Hoboken NJ indie-music scene. He also plays with Blue Paradox, East Of Venus, Tulula!, Living With Elephants, OmU (who twice toured Cuba), Richard Barone & Friends, Joan Henry & Noyeh-Ongeh, Mother Earth and Bibi Farber.
Over the years Rob has also played with Donovan, Damo Suzuki (Can), The B-52's, Garth Hudson (The Band), Steve Holley (Wings), Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group), Tony Viscontoi (David Bowie and T-Rex) and Moby, as well as members of The Velvet Underground, R.E.M., Throbbing Gristle, Television, The Roches, The Feelies and Osibisa among others. He has played in hundreds of venues and appears on dozens of recordings. Rob's solo CD is titled "Morning Becomes Electric".

Stephanie Rooker is a composer, vocalist, cross-cultural music educator, and sound healing facilitator, who has distinguished herself on the NYC music scene with her band The Search Engine, duo work with guitarist Ben Tyree, and work with ensembles including Riverside Church Inspirational Choir and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Revelations chorus. Stephanie founded Voice Journey Sound Center, offering an array of workshops, private lessons, training programs, and sound healing services to strengthen the voice, empower self-expression, and promote personal & collective growth.
Guitarist Ben Tyree is a performer and composer of virtuosic ability, infectious groove, and eclectic tastes. Born in Washington DC and based in Brooklyn, he leads the abstract jazz-funk trio BT3 while expressing a more introspective side on his classically-influenced solo debut, Thoughtform Variations. That versatility has led to work with artists as diverse as Vernon Reid, Valerie June, Elliot Sharp, and Burnt Sugar: The Arkestra Chamber, to name a few.
