The Blues Music Awards, Blues Blast Awards, Living Blues Critics Poll Awards, and the W. C. Handy Awards have all acknowledged Johnny with multiple awards and nominations, including Soul Blues Album of the Year and Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year. Johnny is honored to be mentioned on two markers along the Mississippi Blues Trail.
Linwood Taylor has one of the most highly respected names in the blues community. Linwood's guitar style is in the vein of Muddy Waters, Albert King and Hendrix, while his resume includes appearances with Albert Collins, Joe Louis Walker, Devon Allman, and Tommy Castro.
Sol Roots has a wealth of original music in many musical styles and a killer approach to guitar playing. No wonder, since he spent years working with Music Maker Foundation backing up the likes of blues, funk, and soul legends such as Guitar Gabriel, Cool John Ferguson, Captain Luke, Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, Albert White, Robert Lee Coleman, and more.
The legendary JV's has been showcasing the best in national, regional, as well as local Washington D.C. area blues, rock, soul, jazz, rockabilly, folk, and more for decades. JV's is located in Falls Church, VA.
