About
The Blue Crescent Syncopators come to Rosensteel Hall on August 26th sporting a new lineup and a new sound. Pianist/guitarist/vocalist Craig Gildner has reunited with trombonist David Sager, an original and founding member of Blue Crescent Quintette in 2005, and added multi instrumentalists Anita Thomas on reeds and Jon Combs on bass to offer a flexibility and level of excitement in traditional jazz performance. Seasoned DC drummer Brian Alpert, of Doc Scantlin fame rounds out the rhythm section with a true New Orleans flavor that's irresistible for dancing. Though Craig picks up the cornet on a few tunes, the Rosensteel performance will feature trumpet man David Erickson to create the classic three horn sound prominent in hot and trad jazz.
