Event Description
Mix and mingle while enjoying French wine and listening to French jazz performed by the Acker Bros Quartet.
The Boston-based Acker Bros Quartet will perform a night of jazz music from and about France on Tuesday, September 18th. Berklee College of Music alumni Victor and Dana Acker (guitar and bass respectively) have been serving up soul stirring jazz across New England for nearly a decade. The Brothers’ foray into French themed jazz, which they lovingly refer to as the “Coq Au Vin Project,” was due in large part to their heritage. The family name was changed from D’Arpentigny to Acker by a border official as the family immigrated to the U.S. The Brothers, along with rhythm guitarist Scott Bressler and drummer extraordinaire Jazz Robertson, will deliver such French nuggets as “Sous le Ciel De Paris” and “C’est si Bon” as well as a few love letters from America like “C’est Magnifique” and “April in Paris.” Toss in some Django Swing and the evening will magically transform the French Cultural Center into a jazz night club in downtown Paris!...
