The legendary jazz pianist Harvey Diamond has graced the Boston area for decades with his music which is at once both deeply technical and deeply emotional to even the most casual listener. Harvey, a protégé of the great Lennie Tristano, has performed with Sheila Jordan, Art Farmer, Charles Neville and many others. After decades of patience by his fans, he has finally released his first CD as a leader, The Harvey Diamond Trio.
Bassist Jon Dreyer (Jon Dreyer Music) has become one of Harvey Diamond's closest collaborators. He also performs regularly with James Merenda, both as a member of his band TickleJuice and also in more mainstream jazz settings, and has performed with most of the Boston jazz community, including Adam Janjigian, Yoko Miwa, Frank Wilkins, Joe Hunt and Steve Langone.
Drummer Giuseppe Paradiso has performed internationally both as a sideman and leader with several artists, bands and orchestras of different nationalities, covering a wide variety of musical genres and styles, ranging from jazz and world music to pop. To name a few: Orchestra Sinfonica della provincia di Bari, jazz trumpeter Phil Grenadier (John Scofield, Kenny Barron, Steve Swallow), guitarist pioneer David Fiuczynski (Jack Dejohnette, Jo Jo Mayer), 4 times Grammy-award winner and bassist Oscar Stagnaro (Paquito D' Rivera), Global Jazz Institute director and saxophonist Marco Pignataro (Eddie Gomez, John Patitucci, Danilo Perez), jazz bassist John Lockwood (Gary Burton, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard), multi-instrumentalist Stan Strickland (Pharoah Sanders, Herbie Mann), vibraphonist Victor Mendoza, Syrian clarinetist Kinan Azmeh, Turkish composer, arranger and pianist Utar Artun, British singer-songwriter William Topley, organist and bassist Vito Di Modugno, accordionist Vince Abbracciante, Revolutionary Snake Ensemble, Italian artists Mario Rosini e Daniele Sepe, Spanish percussionist and band leader Jorge Perez Gonzalez (Patax), Chinese virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Yazhi Guo, Senegalese griot percussionists Lamine Toure e Paa Seck Diery. His performances include multiple festivals, universities and major venues. He has appeared many times on radio and TV and has recorded a number of albums.
There will be no set list and no charts. Anything can happen. Listen to what Warne Marsh called "the spontaneous creation of beauty."
