The internationally acclaimed Aardvark Jazz Orchestra, one of the longest running large jazz ensembles in the world, will open its 41st season with Blues and Other Hues. Led by Mark Harvey, the band, with vocalists Jerry Edwards & Grace Hughes, will perform an exhilarating mix, from Ellington’s classic Such Sweet Thunder to Harvey’s Boston Boy (inspired by jazz maven Nat Hentoff), plus Billy Strayhorn’s Daydream, and more. “Spirited composition, inspired playing” (Jazz Alchemist, Poland). “Expansive harmony, brilliant music... discipline, openness, and freedom.” (CultureJazz.Fr, France).
