<p>Aline Shader (1936 - 2002) was a beloved composer and drama teacher in Newton MA and an artist-in-residence in Boston-area schools. She loved the sound of young voices, the smiles on young faces and the joy that comes from singing together. Aline understood the power of music to build confidence, spur imagination, and foster the unity that singing together brings.</p>
<p>Reach Out & Read is the beneficiary of all ticket sales. Celebrating their 30th Anniversary, Reach Out & Read gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together. The program serves more than 4.7 million children and their families across the nation, with a special emphasis on serving those in low-income communities, providing books in more than 14 languages. </p>
<p>Authors Karen Jacobs and Ty Allan Jackson will offer free books in the lobby after the concert.</p>
