Claire Is riding a wave of accomplishments of the last year, performing with the Boston Pops in June, winning two more Downbeat Student Awards, going to Carmel, Indiana to perform as a finalist in the Michael Feinstein American Songbook Competition, performed in Miami as a Young Arts Jazz Voice finalist, and recently was chosen to perform with the Grammy High School Jazz band. Claire Dickson celebrates her 18th birthday with a concert at Ryles! Claire Is riding a wave of accomplishments of the last year, performing with the Boston Pops in June, winning two more Downbeat Student Awards, going to Carmel, Indiana to perform as a finalist in the Michael Feinstein American Songbook Competition, performed in Miami as a Young Arts Jazz Voice finalist, and recently was chosen to perform with the Grammy High School Jazz band. Claire is already an important member of the jazz community in Boston. She writes jazz blogs for WBUR’s Artery, edits the JazzBoston newsletter, and has even deejayed her own jazz radio show on WMFO. For her Artery articles she has interviewed Wayne Shorter, Diane Reeves and Danilo Perez, and for the JazzBoston newsletter she has highlighted local musicians and venues. This is all in addition to regular performances at local jazz clubs and concert halls.

Claire is a fluent and sophisticated improviser, having started scat singing at an early age. Although young, she has an unusually large repertoire- hundreds of standards, Latin Jazz, Bebop and modern jazz tunes. Claire released her first CD at age 13 and garnered impressive reviews and airplay on both sides of the Atlantic.

Featured in her quartet are Lee Fish on drums, Isaac Levien on bass and James Fernando on piano.
