When Globe jazz critic Jon Garelick reviewed Clear Audience's latest release Medicine Ball - it made his 2015 Best Local Jazz list - he wrote of their "beautiful sound and full-on adventure," and I can't agree more enthusiastically. Guitarist Steve Fell, saxophonist Andy Voelker, bassist Jef Charland and drummer Luther Gray have played together in various incarnations for ages, and as a foursome since sometime in the early aughts. Individually inspired players, their coming together is a thrilling example of the whole being even bigger than the sum of the parts.
