Dan Blake And Bert Seager Play Ballads at New School Of Music

Acclaimed musicians Dan Blake (saxophone) and Bert Seager (piano) will play a one-hour duo concert of ballads, performing love songs from the great American songbook that have made their way into the main-stream jazz repertoire.

The two connected musically while Dan was attending New England Conservatory in the early 2000’s and have built a lasting friendship. This project is a the result of their long-standing wish to record an entire program of ballads together.

Though both of these musicians have extensive catalogues of original compositions, here they will interpret the well known tunes of others. Both Dan and Bert have developed a uniquely expressive and personal sound. Their commitment to melody and to listening deeply produces transparent framing of each song in the midst of a spontaneous playful musical conversation....
