Pianist David Rumpler leads this swinging quintet that specializes in jazz takes on the best of Brazilian bossa nova and samba, diving deeply into the Brazilian repertory, and featuring songs by Ivan Lins, Joao Donato, Durval Ferreira, Joyce, Johnny Alf, and A.C. Jobim.
Bassist Ebinho Cardoso and drummer Alberto Netto are nationally and internationally reknowned Brazilian musicians who bring an authentic taste of Brazil to the Boston area. Evelyn Rosenthal is a jazz vocalist with a spot-on Brazilian inflection and an expansive repertoire of great Brazilian songs. Saxophonist Tucker Antell is simply one of the most talented young saxophonists on the jazz scene today. We are delighted to have him as our special guest for our 11/15 show at The Java Room...
